As a visual fine art photographer, I form constructed imagery that I intend to be at once gracefully surreal and compellingly engaging. With recurring themes of femininity, organic surroundings, and the complexity of the human psyche, I am compelled and absorbed by the contrast between harsh personal reality and the realm of fantasy, merging the two into images in an attempt to both grasp and explore the aspects of human emotion. Utilizing various objects as visual metaphors, I intend the work to be at once consuming and peaceful. I often place these objects along with unusual subject matter to tell a visual narrative in hopes the viewer questions the meaning of the elements and why they are placed where and in the manner they appear.
I grew up in Scituate, Massachusetts, on the south shore of Boston but now live in Columbus, Ohio with my husband. I miss the ocean and mountains every day and try to visit one or the other every chance I get.
